Ekiti Governor Says 235km of Rural Roads Will Be Delivered Under Next Phase of RAAMP
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has promised to address residents’ requests for more roads, healthcare, water supply, electricity and erosion control as his administration prepares the 2027 budget.
Oyebanji spoke at a town hall meeting with stakeholders from Ekiti Central Senatorial District in Aramoko-Ekiti, Ekiti West Local Government Area.

The governor said his administration had fulfilled promises made during the 2022 election campaign, citing projects executed across the state and the incorporation of residents’ requests into annual budgets.

He said the state’s partnership with the World Bank under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project would provide 1,500 kilometres of roads across Ekiti, with 235 kilometres expected under the third phase after the rainy season.
Oyebanji also said his administration was developing measures to tackle flooding and gully erosion affecting Efon, Aramoko and Ado-Ekiti.
On healthcare, the governor said 110 primary healthcare centres had been renovated, with plans for further improvements to reduce mortality and morbidity.
He also commended traditional rulers for their role in intelligence gathering and community vigilance, saying security threats in the state had declined.
Representatives from Ado, Ekiti West, Irepodun/Ifelodun, Ijero and Efon Local Government Areas called for more road projects, improved electricity, healthcare and ambulance services, erosion control, potable water and additional public secondary schools in the 2027 budget.
