PVC collection hits 97.1 per cent as electoral body concludes preparations for Saturday’s poll.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced an increase in the number of registered voters in Ekiti State ahead of the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026.
According to the commission, registered voters in the state rose from 987,647 in 2023 to 1,059,360 in 2026, while Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection increased to 1,028,929, representing a 97.1 per cent collection rate.

INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Haruna, disclosed that the PVC collection exercise had been successfully concluded after it was extended from June 11 to June 14 following consultations with stakeholders.
The commission also revealed that 14,406 applications for replacement of lost, damaged or defaced PVCs were received and processed, with most of the new cards already collected by applicants.
INEC assured Ekiti residents of its readiness to conduct a free, fair and credible election, urging voters with collected PVCs to come out peacefully and participate in the democratic process.
