Public universities have until October 31, private universities November 30 to complete admissions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has restored its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) after a temporary disruption, allowing institutions to continue processing admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session.

In a statement on Monday, the board said CAPS was “fully restored and is now operational” and urged institutions to speed up their admission processes to recover lost time and meet approved deadlines.

JAMB said public universities have until October 31, 2026, to complete their admission processes, while private universities have until November 30, 2026.

The board also advised candidates who receive admission offers to promptly accept them.

Candidates who were previously awaiting their results were urged to upload or verify their credentials following the release of the 2026 NECO Senior School Certificate Examination results.

JAMB said the step would ensure candidates’ credentials are available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission processes.

The board apologised for the inconvenience caused by the disruption and thanked candidates, institutions and other stakeholders for their patience.
