The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially declared Kingsley Chinda as its governorship candidate for Rivers State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement was made on Thursday in Port Harcourt by Bitrus Kwamoti, who served as chairman and returning officer of the party’s governorship primary election committee.

Kwamoti declared the result at the APC Secretariat after receiving collated results from the 23 local government areas of the state.
According to him, Chinda, who emerged as the sole aspirant in the primary election, secured a total of 268,497 votes.
He stated that the aspirant met all constitutional requirements and guidelines of the party, thereby emerging as the APC governorship candidate for Rivers State.
The primary election has attracted significant political attention due to the lingering political crisis in Rivers State and the influence of allies loyal to Nyesom Wike within the party structure.
