Five Crew Members, 20 Passengers Killed as Air Force Says No Survivors Found

The Nigerian Air Force has released the names of the 25 people who died in Monday’s aircraft crash near Igbokoda, Ondo State.

In a statement signed by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the NAF said the aircraft had five crew members and 20 passengers on board.

The aircraft was on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos when the accident occurred. Search-and-rescue operations were immediately activated in coordination with relevant authorities, but no survivors were found.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, expressed condolences to the families, loved ones and colleagues of those who died and assured the bereaved families of the Air Force’s support.

A comprehensive investigation has also been ordered to establish the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The NAF urged the public to avoid speculation and the circulation of unverified information, while respecting the privacy and dignity of the affected families.

A condolence register has been opened at the NAF Headquarters in Abuja for government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, security chiefs and other well-wishers.
