Nigeria has secured an additional 10,000 slots for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage, increasing the country’s allocation from 50,000 to 60,000.

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) said the additional slots were approved by Saudi Arabia following sustained engagements between both countries.

According to the commission, 7,500 of the new slots will be allocated to State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards, agencies and commissions, while the remaining 2,500 will go to seven lead tour operators.

NAHCON Chairman, Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, thanked the Federal Government and Saudi authorities for their continued cooperation in supporting Nigerian pilgrims.

The commission said the additional slots would be administered transparently and in accordance with Nigerian and Saudi regulations.

It also reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring accessible Hajj services, quality service delivery and the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims.
