The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed Toma Enya as the new Commandant of its Osun State Command following the approval of the Commandant-General, Prof. Ahmed Audi.
The NSCDC spokesperson in Osun, Kehinde Adeleke, disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Osogbo.
Enya, who was transferred from the Ekiti Command, assumed office on Monday, taking over from Commandant Igbalawole Sotiyo.
Following the handing-over ceremony at the command headquarters, Sotiyo led Enya to the Government Office in Abere, where he was received on behalf of Governor Ademola Adeleke by his deputy, Kola Adewusi.
Enya assured the state government that intelligence gathering and sharing would be strengthened under his leadership, adding that the command would remain committed to protecting lives and property across the state.
Adewusi welcomed the new commandant and assured him of the state government’s support to enable the NSCDC to effectively discharge its statutory responsibilities and contribute to the security and development of Osun.
Enya, the 18th NSCDC commandant in Osun, hails from Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State. He holds a BSc in Geology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.
He has served in various operational, investigative and administrative capacities within the Corps and attended several professional courses in Nigeria and abroad, with expertise in security operations, leadership and administration.
