Oba Aladelusi Says More Investments Will Drive Development and Create Jobs

The Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, has urged Akure indigenes living in Nigeria and abroad to invest in the city to accelerate its development and create employment opportunities for youths.

The monarch made the call on Sunday at the official inauguration of Baseline Event Centre in Akure, Ondo State.

Oba Aladelusi said Akure was expanding rapidly and urged sons and daughters of the community in the diaspora to take advantage of the city’s growth by investing in the town.

“I can assure them that Akure is safe, their investments are safe. They should come home to invest,” the monarch said.

He noted that increased investments would not only contribute to the development of Akure but also provide employment opportunities for residents, particularly young people.

The Deji commended the management of Baseline Event Centre for investing in the community and assured investors of the palace’s continued support.

The Managing Director of the centre, Olusegun Odemakinwa, said the decision to establish the facility in Akure was driven partly by a desire to contribute to employment and economic activity in the city.

He said the centre would create opportunities for young people and professionals across the events and hospitality sectors while working with local businesses and service providers.

Odemakinwa said photographers, decorators, caterers, drivers, security personnel, technicians and other professionals would benefit from the centre’s operations.

“We want to be an institution that contributes to Akure,” he said.
