Government Urges Motorists to Avoid One-Way Driving, Illegal Lanes Around Kara Bridge
The Ogun State Government has deployed the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) to strengthen traffic management around Kara Bridge and adjoining sections of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The government said the move followed worsening traffic challenges along the strategic corridor, which serves residents, workers, businesses and travellers.

TRACE personnel are working with security, emergency and other traffic management agencies to clear obstructions, prevent further gridlock and improve movement along the affected sections.

The government urged motorists to approach the area with caution, avoid driving against traffic and refrain from creating additional lanes, warning that such actions could worsen congestion and obstruct emergency operations.
Commercial drivers and articulated vehicle operators were particularly advised to exercise restraint and comply with traffic directions from enforcement personnel.
The government said its immediate priority was to protect lives, maintain order and reduce the inconvenience being experienced by commuters.
It added that it would continue to monitor the situation and deploy additional personnel and resources until normal traffic flow is restored.
The government also appealed to road users to remain patient and cooperate with traffic management officials.
