Exercise covers Grade Levels 06–17 as Governor Makinde administration reaffirms commitment to workers’ welfare.

The Oyo State Local Government Service Commission has promoted 1,535 workers across the state’s 33 local government areas, releasing promotion letters under the 2025 promotion exercise.

The promotion covers officers on Grade Levels 06 to 17 serving in the commission and seven departments across the local government system.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Director of Education and Social Services, Lala Foluso, the beneficiaries include 288 staff from Administration and General Services, 57 from Agriculture and Natural Resources, 40 from Budget, Planning, Research and Statistics, 431 from Education and Social Services, 44 from Environmental Health Services, 315 from Finance and Supplies, and 360 from Works, Housing, Lands and Survey.

Presenting the promotion letters, the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Akinwole, said the exercise reflects Governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to workers’ welfare, motivation and career development. He noted that the promotions are aimed at building a more professional, efficient and productive local government workforce capable of delivering quality services at the grassroots.

Akinwole congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to see the promotion as both recognition for their dedication and a call to greater responsibility in serving the people. He also reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to conducting regular promotion exercises, strengthening staff capacity and improving workers’ welfare in line with the Makinde administration’s Omituntun 2.0 agenda.
