Governor names airport upgrade committee chairman, executive adviser and local government commission member in latest reshuffle.

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved a fresh round of appointments into key positions in the state government, including the nomination of Dr. Olabode Taiwo Ladipo as commissioner-designate.

Dr. Ladipo, who currently serves as Permanent Secretary, General Administration, has been nominated for appointment as commissioner, with his name forwarded to the Oyo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation. If confirmed, he will join the Oyo State Executive Council.

The governor also appointed Arc. Ifeoluwa Akande as Chairman of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport Upgrade Committee, Hon. Isola Abiodun Adekunle as Executive Adviser on Intra-Party Affairs, and Hon. Oladejo Emmanuel Oladokun as Part-Time Member of the Local Government Service Commission.

The appointments were conveyed in a letter signed by the Governor’s Chief of Staff, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, and took effect from July 1, 2026.

As chairman of the airport upgrade committee, Arc. Akande will oversee the ongoing transformation of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, a flagship infrastructure project of the Makinde administration aimed at expanding the airport’s capacity and boosting economic development in Oyo State.

Hon. Adekunle will coordinate intra-party affairs for the administration, while Hon. Oladokun will contribute to personnel administration and governance as a member of the Local Government Service Commission.

Governor Makinde congratulated the appointees and urged them to discharge their duties with diligence, loyalty, and dedication to the continued development of Oyo State.
