… says offenders risk arrest and seizure of goods
The Chairperson of the Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority (OYRLEA), Hon. Justice Aderonke Aderemi, has warned roadside traders in Oyo State to immediately stop illegal trading activities or face enforcement actions.
Hon. Justice Aderemi stated that the sale of livestock including cows, rams, goats and chickens, as well as other goods along roadsides, remains prohibited under the law.
According to her, the agency will work closely with security agencies to arrest violators and confiscate goods displayed in unauthorized locations.
She further revealed that approved trading spaces have already been provided for traders across Oyo, Ogbomoso, Oke-Ogun, Ibarapa and Ibadan zones to ensure business activities are carried out within designated areas.
