Onanuga Describes Late Assistant Director as Hardworking Professional Who Will Be Difficult to Replace
The Presidency has described the death of Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations at the Presidential Villa, Peter Chukwuemeka Onwubuariri, as a major loss to President Bola Tinubu and the State House Media and Public Relations Department.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, stated this in Abuja during a condolence visit to the deceased’s family.
Onanuga, who led a delegation of presidential media aides and members of the department, described Onwubuariri as a hardworking, dedicated and dependable professional whose death had created a difficult-to-fill vacuum.
He said the deceased made significant contributions to the Presidential Media Department and government communication, noting his versatility as a writer and master of ceremonies at presidential events.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Special Duties, Tunde Rahman, also described Onwubuariri as a consummate professional and workaholic who consistently delivered excellent results.
Rahman said the deceased’s commitment to his work was evident in the quality of assignments he handled, while urging media personnel to prioritise their health alongside their professional responsibilities.
Former Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, also expressed shock over Onwubuariri’s death, describing him as a dependable partner and praying for the repose of his soul.
The deceased’s elder sister, Amarachi Nwanguma, thanked the Presidency and members of the presidential media team for their support and solidarity.
She particularly appreciated President Tinubu for his condolence message, saying the family valued the Presidency’s support during the period of mourning.
Nwanguma said the family would communicate the burial arrangements to the Presidency after ongoing consultations are concluded.
