President Hails Diplomat’s 35-Year Career and Contributions to Nigeria’s Foreign Policy

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant.

President Tinubu commended his contributions to Nigeria’s diplomatic service, both at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters and in missions abroad.

Enikanolaiye served in the ministry from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary. He later served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations before his appointment as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

The President also acknowledged his role in the formulation and implementation of Nigeria’s foreign policy and the country’s multilateral engagements with the United Nations, African Union, Commonwealth and other international organisations.

President Tinubu said Enikanolaiye’s appointment as minister was a fitting recognition of his extensive diplomatic experience and exemplary record of service.

“Your distinguished career has been defined by professionalism, intellectual depth, discipline and an unwavering commitment to Nigeria,” the President said.

President Tinubu expressed confidence that the minister would continue to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic institutions and advance the country’s interests on the global stage.

He prayed for Enikanolaiye’s good health, wisdom and strength to continue serving the country.
