Former Ekiti governor joins a list of prominent Nigerians appointed to strategic positions as President Tinubu reshuffles leadership across 10 government institutions.
President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 individuals into key positions across 10 Federal Government agencies and commissions, with former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, appointed Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
The appointments, which take immediate effect, form part of the administration’s efforts to strengthen leadership and improve service delivery across critical government institutions.
Fayose will lead the REA board alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta as non-executive directors, while the agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and other executive directors will serve as board members.
President Tinubu also appointed Major General Junaid Bindawa (retd.) as Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission. Former Lagos lawmaker, Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, was named Secretary of the commission, alongside seven other commissioners representing various states.
Among the notable appointments, Tosin Johnson Adeyanju was moved from the National Lottery Trust Fund to serve as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, while Dr. Abuh Mohammed emerged as Director-General of the National Population Commission.
Other appointments include Dr. Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company (NBET), Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, and Engineer Julius Oloro as Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation.
President Tinubu also inaugurated a new board for the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, headed by Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu, with six members drawn from across the country.
Additionally, Shuni Muhammad Dahiru was appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, while Gisaor Vincent Iorja was named Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority.
The latest appointments are expected to bolster the administration’s governance agenda as it seeks to improve efficiency and drive reforms across federal institutions.
