President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, formally commencing his tenure at the helm of Nigeria’s federal bureaucracy.
The President administered the oath of office to Enitan at the State House, Abuja, on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

His swearing-in came a week after the Presidency announced his appointment as the successor to Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack.
The Presidency announced Enitan’s appointment on August 19, with his assumption of office scheduled for August 27.
As part of preparations for a smooth transition, Tinubu had received both Enitan and his predecessor at the State House on Friday, August 21.
With the administration of the oath, Enitan has formally taken over leadership of the federal civil service and is expected to oversee the implementation of the Federal Government’s ongoing public service reforms.
