President extends European stay as Presidency yet to officially confirm new return date

President Bola Tinubu is now expected to return to Nigeria on Tuesday, after the Presidency earlier announced that he would return this weekend.

Sources within the Presidency said the President is expected to arrive in Lagos.

President Tinubu left Nigeria on August 30 for London before travelling to Paris, where he met French President Emmanuel Macron and businessman Vincent Bolloré.

During his stay, he also witnessed the signing of agreements between Ogun State and DP World for a proposed deep-sea port and a 10,000-hectare special economic zone.

The Presidency had said last Monday that President Tinubu extended his working vacation in Europe by a few days and would return at the weekend.

It also said the President had remained in contact with officials in Nigeria and continued to direct government affairs while away.

As of the time of filing this report, however, there was no official statement from the Presidency confirming the new Tuesday return date or his planned arrival in Lagos.
