The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed a document circulating on social media that purportedly contains the names of candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for House of Representatives seats in Lagos State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The commission described the document as fake and misleading, stressing that it did not originate from INEC or any of its official processes.

In a statement posted on its official X account, INEC categorically denied any involvement in the publication of the list.
“The Commission wishes to categorically state that the document is FAKE, misleading and did not emanate from INEC,” the statement read.
INEC further clarified that it has neither authorised nor published any notice relating to APC House of Representatives candidates for the 2027 elections in Lagos State.
The electoral body urged members of the public to disregard the circulating document, noting that it was not issued through any of its official platforms or communication channels.
The clarification comes amid growing political activities and speculation ahead of the 2027 general elections, with INEC reiterating its commitment to providing accurate information through its verified platforms.
