President says operations in Kogi and Katsina reflect renewed resolve to tackle banditry and violent crime nationwide.
President Bola Tinubu has commended the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for successful operations that led to the elimination of a notorious bandit kingpin, Ibrahim Bastuji, and the rescue of the widow of late Major General Rabe Abubakar.
In a statement issued by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the President described Bastuji’s killing in Kogi State as a major blow to criminal networks responsible for kidnappings and attacks on communities in the region.

Tinubu said the operation demonstrated the determination of security forces to reclaim every part of the country from criminal elements and restore confidence among affected residents.
The President also praised troops for rescuing Hajiya Amina Rabe Abubakar, who was abducted alongside her late husband by bandits.
According to him, the operation reflected the professionalism, bravery, and effective intelligence coordination of security personnel involved in the mission.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing the Armed Forces with the resources and support needed to combat banditry, kidnapping, and other security threats, while urging citizens to continue assisting security agencies with credible information.
