Gbajabiamila says Nigeria will not wait for an Ebola case before acting as NCDC strengthens surveillance at airports and land borders.
The Federal Government has inaugurated a Presidential Task Force on Ebola Virus Disease Preparedness as part of efforts to prevent any outbreak in Nigeria.
Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, said the country currently has no reported Ebola case but stressed that authorities are taking proactive steps to avoid a repeat of the 2014 outbreak.

According to him, the task force will coordinate surveillance, border control, immigration management and emergency response measures across the country. He noted that special attention is being given to both international airports and land borders due to the risk of cross-border movement.
Also speaking, Jide Idris said surveillance systems have been strengthened at major entry points, adding that Nigeria is focused on maintaining a zero-case status while remaining prepared to detect and contain any suspected infection quickly.
The move comes amid renewed Ebola concerns in parts of Africa, with the government emphasizing prevention, early detection and rapid response as key priorities.
