First Lady urges stronger action against child malnutrition, calls for support for vulnerable children, pregnant women and nursing mothers.

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has called for intensified efforts to combat child malnutrition across the country, declaring that no Nigerian child should suffer from hunger.

Mrs Tinubu made the appeal during a second-quarter meeting with wives of state governors at the State House in Abuja, where she emphasized the need for grassroots interventions to support malnourished children, pregnant women and nursing mothers.

According to a statement issued by her Senior Special Assistant on Media, Busola Kukoyi, the initiative is aimed at addressing malnutrition and improving the wellbeing of vulnerable families across Nigeria.

“Our children are not supposed to be going hungry,” the First Lady said, urging governors’ wives to identify malnourished children in their states and ensure they receive proper care and nutritional support.

She stressed that every child deserves adequate nutrition and called for collective action to safeguard the health and future of Nigerian children.

Mrs Tinubu reaffirmed her commitment to initiatives that promote maternal and child welfare, noting that stronger collaboration at the state level would help reduce malnutrition and improve living conditions for families nationwide.
