FRSC blames excessive speeding and route violation for the early morning crash at Ogbere Junction in Ogun State.
Two people have been confirmed dead following a tragic road traffic crash involving a truck and a commercial bus at Ogbere Junction along the Ogbere/J4 corridor of the Sagamu-Ore Expressway in Ogun State.
The accident, which occurred around 5:10 a.m. on Thursday, involved a white Mack truck with registration number ABC660XC and an orange Peugeot J5 bus with an unknown registration number.

The Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said four adult male occupants were involved in the crash. Two persons lost their lives, while the other two escaped unhurt.
According to the FRSC Public Relations Officer, Afolabi Odunsi, preliminary investigations revealed that excessive speeding and route violation were responsible for the fatal collision. The impact reportedly caused the Peugeot J5 bus to burst into flames, leaving its front section completely burnt.
Odunsi said FRSC rescue personnel arrived at the scene within two minutes of receiving the distress call, diverted traffic to an alternative carriageway to ease congestion, and cleared the wreckage from the road. The bodies of the deceased were evacuated by officers of the Nigeria Police Motor Traffic Division (MTD), Ogbere Division, and deposited in a mortuary.
Reacting to the incident, Ogun State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, sympathised with the families of the victims and urged motorists to obey traffic regulations, warning against speeding and route violations, especially during poor weather and low visibility.
The FRSC reaffirmed its commitment to improving road safety through strict enforcement, public awareness campaigns, and prompt emergency response.
