Re-elected governor says there is “no victor and no vanquished” as he promises to transform Osun into an industrial and investment hub.

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has extended an olive branch to his opponents in the August 15 governorship election, urging them to work with his administration for the development of the state.

Adeleke made the appeal on Sunday in Osogbo while addressing the people of Osun State, hours after he was declared the winner of the election.

He said his re-election had placed a responsibility on his administration to expand development and strengthen good governance across the state.

The governor declared that there was “no victor and no vanquished” in the election and called on his fellow contestants to join hands with his administration for the benefit of Osun residents.

Adeleke said he remained the governor of all Osun people, regardless of their political affiliations, and expressed his ambition to transform the state from a civil service-dependent economy into an industrial and investment destination.

He also thanked supporters of democracy, both within Nigeria and abroad, for backing his re-election bid, saying the outcome had strengthened his faith in the democratic process.

Adeleke further commended the media for its coverage of the election and what he described as its support for democracy.

The governor, who was first elected in 2022 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), left the party in December 2025 and contested the 2026 election on the platform of the Accord Party.

According to the Returning Officer, Joshua Ogunwole, Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 444,815 votes. Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) came third with 17,180 votes.
