Nigeria’s Flamingos have won the 2026 WAFU-B U-17 Girls Cup after defeating Togo 4-0 in the final in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire.

Captain Chidera Harmony scored twice from the penalty spot in the 15th and 35th minutes to give Nigeria a 2-0 lead at half-time.

Oluebube Umejiaku extended the lead in the 67th minute before Oluwakemi Adegbuyi completed the scoring in the 90th minute.

The victory gave the Flamingos a perfect record of five wins from five matches at the tournament.

Coach Hakeem Busari’s side will now turn their attention to preparations for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

Acting Nigeria Football Federation General Secretary, Emmanuel Ikpeme, praised the team for their performance and expressed confidence in their prospects at the global tournament.

“The Flamingos have done very well, made the nation proud, and I have faith in the players that they are not done yet,” Ikpeme said.

The Flamingos, bronze medallists at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, are expected to return to Nigeria on Tuesday.
