England Forward Commits to Stamford Bridge for Another Year as Blues Continue Long-Term Deals for Key Players

Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2034.

The 24-year-old England international was previously contracted to the Premier League club until 2033, but his improved deal adds another year to his stay in west London.

“Chelsea means a lot to me and I think the club is going in the right direction, so I’m delighted to sign, and I’m obviously very happy,” Palmer said.

He added that discussions with the club’s owners, sporting directors, manager and fellow players had strengthened his confidence in Chelsea’s ambitions.

Palmer joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2023 and has recorded a combined 91 goals and assists in 138 appearances for the club.

His previous season was affected by a persistent groin problem. England manager Thomas Tuchel also left him out of the World Cup squad and later said Palmer had “missed too many opportunities” to represent the national team after withdrawing from recent Nations League fixtures.

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso defended the forward, saying Palmer remained committed to England and needed to regain full fitness to produce his best performances for club and country.

Palmer has started the new season strongly, scoring four goals in seven appearances across all competitions.

His contract extension follows similar long-term agreements involving Chelsea players Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto, whose deals also run into the 2030s.
