Oyo Assembly hopeful says community development and improved security remain top priorities for Akinyele Constituency II.

The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate for the Oyo State House of Assembly, Akinyele Constituency II, Hon. Olalere Solomon, popularly known as ERE, has donated 200 solar-powered street lights to communities across the constituency in a bid to improve security and boost economic activities.

The intervention, which benefitted over a dozen communities, is the latest in a series of grassroots development initiatives undertaken by the House of Assembly hopeful.

Communities that received the solar street lights include Kajorepo/Akobo, Tinuoye, Abatakan Spare Parts, Motunde, Akinkunmi Iroko, Isale Ojoo, Akuro (Ward 10), Strabag, Olorisaoko II, Asiwaju Olorisaoko, Agbekoya Abaeja, Aba Eko Village, Akuro Zone B and Idiori Zone.

Residents, youths and community leaders welcomed the APM candidate during the distribution exercise, commending what they described as a practical demonstration of leadership and commitment to community welfare.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Olalere Solomon said the project was inspired by his passion for grassroots development and his desire to improve the quality of life of residents across Akinyele Constituency II.

He noted that the solar street lights would help illuminate streets, improve security, discourage criminal activities and create a more conducive environment for businesses to thrive after dark.

“I believe leadership is about service and making meaningful impacts in the lives of the people. These solar street lights will not only brighten our communities but also strengthen security and stimulate economic activities,” he said.

The APM candidate added that he remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote peace, security and development, regardless of whether he currently occupies public office.

Community leaders who spoke during the exercise expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as a life-changing intervention. They noted that Hon. Olalere Solomon’s philanthropic activities have earned him widespread admiration across the constituency.

They also pledged their support for his political ambition, expressing confidence that his record of service reflects the quality of representation Akinyele Constituency II stands to gain if elected.

The solar street light project further cements Hon. Olalere Solomon ERE’s growing reputation as a grassroots politician dedicated to delivering tangible benefits to the people of Akinyele Constituency II.
