Party says Oyo governor’s popularity and leadership record make him a credible alternative as it completes upload of candidates’ details to INEC.

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has declared that its presidential candidate, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, is well-positioned to win the 2027 presidential election, describing him as a credible alternative to President Bola Tinubu.

The party also confirmed that it has successfully uploaded the nomination details of Makinde, his running mate and all its National Assembly candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in line with the electoral timetable.

Speaking with journalists in Abuja on Monday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, said the submission marked a major milestone in the APM’s preparations for the 2027 general election.

According to Yusuf, the party is intensifying grassroots mobilisation nationwide and fielding candidates with proven integrity, competence and leadership experience.

He said the APM had witnessed a significant increase in membership and support following the emergence of Governor Makinde as its presidential candidate and the entry of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, who is contesting a senatorial seat on the party’s platform.

“We have uploaded details of our presidential, vice-presidential and National Assembly candidates as required by INEC. This marks another important milestone in our journey towards offering Nigerians a credible, competent and people-oriented alternative in the 2027 general elections,” Yusuf said.

He argued that growing concerns over insecurity, rising living costs, unemployment and shrinking economic opportunities have strengthened public support for the party.

Yusuf maintained that Makinde possesses the leadership capacity to rebuild the economy, improve security and place the welfare of Nigerians at the centre of government policies if elected president in 2027.
