Apex court mandates use of Nigerian Case Management System, says all filings must be uploaded at least 30 days before hearing dates.
The Supreme Court has directed lawyers handling appeals and motions scheduled for hearing between September and December 2026 to upload all relevant court documents through the Nigerian Case Management System (NCMS).
The directive was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Kabir E. Akanbi, in line with Rule 10(1) of the Supreme Court Practice Direction, 2026.
According to the statement, counsel are expected to review the hearing schedule by visiting the Supreme Court’s website and accessing the Litigation section under the NCMS platform, where the list of appeals and motions has been published.
The apex court instructed lawyers to upload all previously filed documents, including Records of Appeal, Briefs of Argument, pending motions and other relevant court processes, not later than 30 days before their scheduled hearing dates.
The court said the directive is aimed at ensuring compliance with the Supreme Court Practice Direction, improving the effectiveness of the NCMS and promoting the speedy and efficient determination of cases.
It urged all legal practitioners with matters listed for hearing during the period to comply strictly with the directive.
