Three suspects arrested as police recover stolen vehicle and weapons linked to the double murder in Owode-Egba.

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the gruesome murder of former OGTV broadcaster, Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo, at her residence in Owode-Egba, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.

Parading the suspects in Abeokuta, Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni said the principal suspect allegedly confessed that the attack was carried out to “teach her a lesson” over grievances related to poor remuneration during his period of employment.

According to the police, intensive intelligence gathering and technical tracking led to the recovery of Oyesiku’s stolen Lexus RX 330 and the arrest of the suspects. Investigators also recovered a broken hammer, cutlass, plank, black pen and other exhibits believed to have been used in the crime.

Police said the principal suspect allegedly recruited two accomplices to carry out the attack on June 20, 2026. The suspects were said to have first overpowered the security guard before gaining access to the residence and attacking Oyesiku.

The stolen vehicle was later recovered in the Onikolobo area of Ogun State after a coordinated intelligence-led operation.

Ojajuni disclosed that a handwritten note allegedly left behind at the crime scene was subjected to forensic analysis, providing key leads that helped investigators identify and apprehend the suspects.

The police commissioner stressed that investigations are ongoing and that the suspects will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation, while reaffirming the command’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victims.
