Former president urges collective action on climate change as Kano backs environmental initiative.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has blamed global warming on human greed, selfishness and reckless exploitation of the environment, warning that climate change continues to threaten the balance of nature.

Speaking at an environmental sustainability event in Kano, Obasanjo said human activities have caused significant damage to the ecosystem despite God’s creation of the world in perfect balance.

The former president revealed that he has planted more than 3.5 million trees to help combat climate change, stressing that protecting the environment is a shared responsibility.

The Kano State Government pledged support for the initiative by donating 10,000 seedlings, while organisers called for greater collective efforts to preserve the environment for future generations.
