Kaduna governor says over ₦3 billion has been paid to residents impacted by government projects, promises fairness in future developments.
Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has assured residents that no property will be demolished for any government project without the payment of fair and adequate compensation.
The governor gave the assurance while presenting compensation cheques to 122 households affected by the 15-kilometre Ring Road project stretching from Danbushiya Junction to Danhono 2 in Millennium City.

Sani said his administration remains committed to balancing infrastructure development with the rights and welfare of citizens, stressing that public interest should never come at the expense of justice.
According to him, work on the Ring Road project was temporarily slowed after authorities discovered that some homes and structures were located within the project’s right-of-way, allowing time for a transparent assessment and compensation process.
Describing the exercise as an act of justice rather than charity, the governor said the payments would enable affected families to rebuild and relocate with dignity.
He also disclosed that his administration has paid more than ₦3 billion in compensation to residents affected by various infrastructure projects across Kaduna State, including beneficiaries in Rigasa, Mahuta, Zaria, Audi, Dogon Bauchi and the Kabala Costain corridor.
Sani reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that all future compensation processes remain transparent, equitable and timely, insisting that development must always be pursued with compassion, fairness and respect for the rights of citizens.
