Governor Orders Arrest of Suspects, Eviction of Warring Factions From Motor Parks

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has proscribed the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) across the state following the killing of Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Ajagungbade Emir.

Oyeyemi was reportedly shot dead on Sunday in Ile-Ife by suspected hoodlums during a clash between rival factions over control of a garage in the ancient city.

In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke directed the Commissioner of Police to immediately arrest those involved in the killing and ensure they face the law.

The governor also ordered the immediate vacation of all motor parks by the warring factions, directing security agencies to restore normalcy and maintain law and order across the state’s parks.

As part of measures to prevent further violence, Governor Adeleke announced the reintroduction of the Park Management System across Osun.

He said an Executive Order would be issued to provide legal backing for the new system.

The governor said the measures were aimed at preventing further clashes and ensuring peace and security across motor parks in the state.
