Governor says initiative will expand access to affordable healthcare as traditional rulers become ambassadors for universal health coverage.
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has enrolled traditional rulers and their queens in the Osun Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS), reaffirming his administration’s commitment to expanding access to quality and affordable healthcare.
The enrolment, which featured the presentation of health insurance cards to the monarchs’ families, coincided with the commissioning of the Osun Health Insurance Agency’s new Multipurpose Hall.

Adeleke said the initiative would ensure traditional rulers enjoy quality healthcare without financial hardship while strengthening the state’s people-centred health policy.
The Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr. Rasaq Akintunde Akindele, said the monarchs’ participation would encourage wider enrolment in the scheme and boost efforts to achieve universal health coverage across Osun State.
