Bala Adamu Ibrahim describes Oyo governor as a trusted ally with the vision and capacity to lead Nigeria to greater heights.
Bala Adamu Ibrahim, the Allied Progressive Movement (APM) vice presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, has said he accepted the nomination because of his confidence in Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s ability to lead Nigeria toward progress and development.
Speaking in a telephone interview with Daily Trust, Ibrahim described Makinde as “not only a close friend but a very close political associate,” noting that his emergence as the party’s vice presidential candidate was founded on mutual trust and a shared political vision.
He said the opportunity represents a personal honour and a significant milestone for Bauchi State, particularly Darazo Local Government Area and the Sade community.
According to Ibrahim, his nomination marks the first time an indigene of the area has been selected for such a high-ranking political office.
“I accepted the position because I believe in Governor Seyi Makinde’s capacity to move Nigeria forward. We share a common vision for the country and are committed to offering Nigerians purposeful leadership,” he said.
The APM recently unveiled Makinde as its presidential candidate for the 2027 election, positioning the Oyo State governor as the party’s flag bearer in what is expected to be a keenly contested race for the presidency.
