Governor Makinde says Ehilebo’s appointment will strengthen APM’s communication strategy as the party prepares for the 2027 presidential election.
The Oyo State Governor and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, has appointed communication strategist and lawyer Anthony Ehilebo as his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication.
The appointment was announced on Thursday by Governor Makinde’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju, in Ibadan, and takes immediate effect, with further appointments to the campaign team expected to follow.

Governor Makinde said Ehilebo’s experience in communication strategy and law would strengthen the APM’s efforts to communicate its message of resetting Nigeria and securing victory in the 2027 presidential election.
The governor called on Nigerians to support the APM, describing the 2027 election as an opportunity to change the country’s leadership and rescue it from what he described as the failures of the All Progressives Congress.
Governor Makinde said the party, through unity, courage and determination, would seek to reclaim Nigeria’s destiny and deliver a better future for Nigerians.
The development follows Governor Makinde’s formal entry into the 2027 presidential race on May 14, 2026, under an alliance involving the Peoples Democratic Party and the APM.
Declaring his candidacy at a rally held at Mapo Hall in Ibadan, Makinde announced his intention to contest for the presidency of Nigeria under the PDP/APM alliance.
