Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved the immediate release of two buses, a 32-seater and an 18-seater to Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan to support the club’s activities.

The Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, disclosed this in a statement issued in Ibadan on Sunday, saying the approval followed Shooting Stars’ impressive victory over Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary-round tie at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta.

According to the statement, the gesture underscores the state government’s commitment to supporting the Oluyole Warriors as they represent Oyo State on the continental stage.

Shooting Stars’ participation in the competition is the club’s first continental appearance in 27 years.

Makinde assured supporters that his administration would continue to provide the necessary support to keep the club in contention for continental honours.

Oyelade said the government was determined to sustain the club’s momentum and restore the old glory of the “Darling Club of Oyo State,” urging the players, technical crew and management to remain focused and committed.
