Agencies, Parastatals and Media Workers to Receive 2024 and 2025 Promotion Benefits
The Kwara State Government has approved the implementation of the 2025 promotion exercise for mainstream civil servants and the 2024 and 2025 promotion exercises for workers in agencies, parastatals and media houses.
The approvals, contained in a memo issued by the Acting Head of Service, Dr Olufunke Shittu, take effect from September 1, 2026.
Shittu said the decision followed the completion of the required processes by the Civil Service Commission and affected establishments, as well as approval by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
She said workers in agencies, parastatals and media houses would have both their 2024 and 2025 promotions implemented, while mainstream civil servants would have their 2025 promotion implemented.
The financial benefits arising from the 2025 promotion for mainstream civil servants will also be paid with effect from September 1, 2026.
According to Shittu, the approvals are part of the AbdulRazaq administration’s efforts to improve workers’ welfare, motivate employees, boost productivity and strengthen career progression in the state public service.
