Lima and Kira Taiwo appeal to cancer specialists and treatment centres to help their 66-year-old father after hospital reportedly stops chemotherapy.

The daughters of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, have appealed for urgent medical intervention for their father, who they said is battling stage-four cancer.

Lima and Kira Taiwo made separate emotional appeals in videos shared on Instagram on Monday, saying the family was seeking medical assistance rather than financial donations.

Lima said the family only became aware of the severity of the actor’s condition about three weeks ago, adding that hospitals had reportedly stopped treating him and that doctors could no longer continue his chemotherapy.

She appealed to cancer specialists, hospitals and medical professionals who could offer treatment to contact the family, saying they were willing to explore available options.

Kira confirmed that Hassan’s cancer had reached stage four and said the hospital treating him had informed the family that it could no longer administer chemotherapy.

She also expressed appreciation to Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, for supporting the family and paying the actor’s medical bills.

The sisters urged medical professionals and treatment centres capable of reviewing Hassan’s case to contact them through Instagram, stressing their determination to find further treatment for their father.

Hassan, 66, has spent more than four decades in the Nigerian film industry and is widely recognised for his contributions to Yoruba-language cinema as an actor, producer, director and screenwriter.
