Ooni Ogunwusi Publicly Unveils Sons Months After Their Birth and Naming Ceremony
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has publicly presented his twin sons during a colourful homecoming ceremony at his palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
A video shared by City Edge TV showed the monarch holding the two newborn princes as traditional chiefs, dignitaries, members of the royal household and well-wishers gathered at the palace.
Dressed in white traditional attire with coral beads, the Ooni smiled as he carried the twins, who were also dressed in matching white outfits and traditional caps.
The royal twins were born to the monarch and his wife, Olori Mariam Ajibola Ogunwusi, with the Ooni announcing their arrival on May 15, 2026.
The monarch had announced that both the mother and children were in good health while congratulating the entire House of Oduduwa on the arrival of the twin princes.
The royal family subsequently held a traditional naming ceremony at the Ile-Ife Palace on May 31.
The latest gathering served as a public homecoming and formal presentation of the twins to members of the royal household, traditional leaders and well-wishers.
The palace grounds were filled with guests dressed in white traditional outfits as the royal family celebrated the princes’ arrival.
