Exercise held across seven centres as Grade Level 1–6 officers seek confirmation of appointment.
The Oyo State Government, through the Ministry of Establishments and Training, has conducted the 2026 mandatory confirmation examination for officers on Grade Levels 1 to 6.
The exercise recorded the participation of more than 4,500 candidates across various cadres and was held simultaneously at seven designated zonal centres across the state.
The Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Thursday.
According to the statement, participants included Clerical Officers, Clerical Assistants, Store Attendants and officers in other allied positions.
The government said junior officers are required to pass the examination within two years of their appointment to qualify for confirmation of their employment.
“All officers appointed to junior cadres are required to pass the mandatory examination within two years of their appointment to qualify for confirmation of their employment or otherwise,” the statement said.
Addressing candidates at the Simeon Adebo Staff Development Centre for Ibadan Zones 1 and 2, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Hameed Alade Bello, urged participants to remain patient and give their best in the examination.
Bello described the exercise as an important step towards career development and assured eligible officers that they would be given the opportunity to sit for the examination.
The examination covered subjects including Public Service Rules 1 and 2 and Current Affairs.
The government said the results would be released and communicated to participants through their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies after the grading process is completed.
