OYRTMA intensifies enforcement of Executive Order 002 as commercial operators flouting restricted operating hours face sanctions.
The Oyo State Government has stepped up the enforcement of Governor Seyi Makinde’s Executive Order 002 of 2026, impounding 32 commercial motorcycles and tricycles for operating beyond approved hours in Ibadan.
The overnight operation, carried out by the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), took place between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. across major parts of the Ibadan metropolis.

According to OYRTMA Chairman, Major Adesagba Adekoya (Rtd.), 22 commercial motorcycles and 10 tricycles were seized during the exercise for violating the directive, which restricts commercial motorcycle and tricycle operations to between 5:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. daily.
The enforcement covered Agodi Gate, Bodija, University of Ibadan, Sango, Mokola, Dugbe, Ojo, Iwo Road, Challenge and Ring Road.
Adekoya warned operators to comply with the Executive Order, stressing that enforcement would continue across the state. He said the restriction was introduced to enhance public safety, improve security and ensure effective traffic management, while urging transport operators and residents to support the government’s efforts.
