President describes APC candidate’s victory as a vote of confidence in continuity and people-centred governance, calls for unity after the poll.
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Biodun Oyebanji on his re-election as Governor of Ekiti State, describing the outcome of Saturday’s governorship election as a strong endorsement of continuity, stability, and people-focused leadership.
In a statement issued by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the President urged opposition candidates and political stakeholders to rally behind Oyebanji and support efforts to advance development in the state.

Tinubu commended Ekiti voters for their peaceful conduct during the election and praised security agencies for maintaining order throughout the exercise. He also charged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to sustain credible and transparent electoral processes ahead of upcoming elections.
The President noted that Oyebanji’s first term recorded achievements in infrastructure, agriculture, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and rural development, adding that the governor’s renewed mandate reflects public confidence in his administration.
INEC declared Oyebanji winner of the election after polling 319,224 votes across the state’s 16 local government areas, making him the first governor in Ekiti State’s history to secure back-to-back re-election victories.
Tinubu further assured the governor of continued collaboration with the Federal Government to deliver more democratic dividends and advance the Renewed Hope Agenda in Ekiti State.
