The Overseer of The Angel of Christ Gospel Church, Isale Oremeji, Agugu area of Ibadan, Oyo State, Prophet (Dr.) Samuel Olabode Samiye, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
Adeleke was declared the winner of the keenly contested election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), after securing 511,067 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.
In his congratulatory message, Prophet Samiye described the victory as a significant moment in the political history of Osun State and a fresh opportunity for Adeleke to consolidate his administration’s programmes and deliver greater dividends of democracy to the people.
The cleric urged the governor to regard his re-election as a renewed mandate and a call to greater service, humility, wisdom and inclusive governance. He also encouraged Adeleke to extend a hand of fellowship to political opponents and other stakeholders while working towards the unity, peace and development of the state.
Prophet Samiye prayed that God would grant Governor Adeleke divine wisdom, strength, good health and uncommon grace as he prepares to begin his second term in office. He also declared that the governor’s second term would be marked by peace, progress, favour and greater developmental achievements.
He prayed for God’s protection over Adeleke, his family, deputy, cabinet members and all those entrusted with the responsibility of serving the people of Osun State.
“May the Almighty God who has granted you victory grant you the wisdom to lead with justice, compassion and courage. May your second term bring greater development, peace and prosperity to the people of Osun State,” he prayed.
The prophet further prayed against any agenda that could undermine the peace and progress of the state, asking God to surround the governor with men and women of integrity, wisdom and competence.
“I pray that every agenda contrary to the peace and progress of Osun State shall come to nothing. May God surround you with men and women of integrity, wisdom and competence, and may your administration leave an enduring legacy for generations yet unborn,” he said.
Prophet Samiye also called for unity among the people of Osun State, regardless of political affiliation, saying the election should mark the beginning of a new chapter of reconciliation, cooperation and collective development.
He urged the people of the state to support peaceful governance and give the governor the necessary cooperation to fulfil the mandate entrusted to him by the electorate.
The cleric concluded by wishing Governor Adeleke a successful second term, praying that his administration would be remembered for impactful leadership, human development, infrastructural growth and improved welfare for the people of Osun State.
