Electoral commission uploads results from nearly 20 per cent of polling units hours after voting ends across the state

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the upload of polling unit results to its INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal following the conclusion of voting in the Ekiti State governorship election.

As of 5:02 p.m. on Saturday, results from about 489 polling units had been uploaded, representing roughly 20 per cent of the 2,445 polling units across the state’s 16 local government areas.

Ado-Ekiti Local Government Area recorded the highest number of uploaded results, with about 113 polling units already reflected on the portal. In contrast, only three polling unit results had been uploaded from Ekiti East Local Government Area at the time of reporting.

The result upload process began barely three hours after voting ended, as INEC continues collation and transmission of results from polling units across the state.
