Police recover four cartridges and two phones as tactical teams intensify patrols to prevent reprisal attacks.
The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the killing of three people in a suspected cult clash in Ilesa.
The victims were reportedly shot during a clash between suspected members of the Aiye and Eiye confraternities at about 8pm on Monday.

The command’s spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed the incident in a statement issued on behalf of the Commissioner of Police in charge of election and security, Samuel Erale.
Ojelabi said the identities of the victims had yet to be established, adding that four expended cartridges and two Android phones were recovered from the scene.
Following the incident, the police commissioner directed the Violence Crime Response Unit and other tactical teams to intensify patrols, surveillance and intelligence-led operations across Ilesa and neighbouring areas.
The command said the measures were aimed at preventing possible reprisal attacks, particularly around identified flashpoints.
The police warned rival cult groups and other criminal elements against exploiting the incident to cause further violence, stressing that anyone involved in cult-related or other criminal activities would be arrested and prosecuted.
The command urged residents to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information and report suspicious movements or activities to security agencies.
