President says removing the FCT Administration from the Treasury Single Account unlocked funds for infrastructure, dismisses claims of executive interference in the judiciary.
President Bola Tinubu has defended his administration’s decision to exempt the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) from the Treasury Single Account (TSA), saying the move has enabled faster execution of infrastructure projects across Abuja.
Speaking on Monday through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, at the commissioning of the Body of Benchers Office Annex and staff quarters at the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Tinubu said the policy gave the FCTA the financial flexibility needed to deliver projects without bureaucratic delays.

The President praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for driving the transformation of the nation’s capital, describing the scale of infrastructure development under his leadership as unmatched.
Tinubu also rejected claims that the Executive was interfering in the judiciary by funding legal infrastructure, insisting that providing modern facilities for the justice sector is a constitutional responsibility, not an attempt to influence judicial independence.
He added that the Federal Government is investing in new hostels, an auditorium and digital infrastructure at the Nigerian Law School, alongside other justice sector projects, as part of efforts to strengthen legal education and judicial service delivery.
