The association also used the occasion to declare its support for candidates of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) in future elections, stating that the party represents a platform capable of sustaining developmental achievements and people-focused governance in Oyo State.

According to the group, the infrastructural development, workers’ welfare initiatives, and governance style witnessed under Governor Seyi Makinde inspired their decision to align with Akika’s political movement and support the APM’s vision for the state.

Responding, Akika expressed appreciation for the honour and confidence reposed in him, assuring members of the association of his continued support and commitment to advancing the welfare of artisans and small business owners.

The OBF founder reiterated his determination to collaborate with stakeholders across Oyo State to strengthen grassroots participation in governance and work towards the success of APM candidates while promoting inclusive development and sustainable progress.

The latest endorsement is seen by supporters as another indication of OBF’s growing influence and expanding network of grassroots supporters ahead of the 2027 political season in Oyo State.
