Governor Disputes Wike’s Claim That President Tinubu Gave Oyo ₦50bn for Ibadan Airport
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has dismissed a claim by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike that President Bola Tinubu gave Oyo State ₦50 billion to upgrade the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport in Ibadan.
Governor Makinde made the clarification during the North-West Town Hall meeting in Katsina, where he described Wike’s claim as false.
The governor said the ongoing upgrade of the Ibadan airport is being fully funded by the Oyo State Government.
Governor Makinde’s statement comes amid ongoing political disagreements between him and Wike over issues surrounding the 2027 elections and the administration of President Tinubu.
