… Cleric demands explanation from WAEC officials, says delayed examinations could expose candidates to kidnapping and other dangers.
Pastor S.O. Solarin has expressed concern over the late delivery of examination papers to students sitting for the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), warning that the delays could expose candidates to security risks.
Speaking in a video posted on his Facebook page, Pastor Solarin said reports reaching him indicated that some students had to wait for several hours before receiving their examination papers, forcing them to remain at their centres much later than expected.

He described the situation as alarming, especially in light of the prevailing security challenges in parts of the country, where cases of kidnappings and attacks have become a major concern.

According to him, WAEC officials owe parents, schools and communities an explanation for the delays.
“It has come to our hearing that some of our students writing WAEC only received their examination papers now. Given the security situation in the country, WAEC officials need to explain why students are being kept at examination centres so late in the day,” he said.
The pastor’s comments come amid growing concerns over the safety of students in several parts of the country, particularly in communities affected by insecurity and recent incidents of abductions.
