Faith-based gathering offers prayers for Nigeria’s leaders, security agencies, and victims of kidnapping and terrorism.

The Women Intercessory Network (WIN), Oyo State, on Saturday held an interdenominational prayer session focused on seeking divine intervention for the peace, security, and prosperity of Nigeria.

The gathering brought together women, church leaders, prayer partners, and other participants who offered prayers for the nation, its leaders, and ongoing efforts to address security challenges across the country.

According to a statement issued by the Convener of the network, Mrs. Omowumi Popoola, special prayers were offered for Nigeria and its leadership, peace and development in Oyo State, and divine protection for members of the Armed Forces and other security agencies.

The group also prayed for the safe rescue and recovery of citizens, including children reportedly being held captive by kidnappers and terrorist groups, while calling for God’s intervention against insecurity, violence, and other threats facing the nation.

Participants further prayed for unity, righteousness, and national transformation, expressing hope for a more peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.

Mrs. Popoola appreciated churches, ministries, prayer partners, and individuals who participated in the prayer session, noting that collective prayers remain vital in seeking solutions to the nation’s challenges.

“As we continue to trust God for divine intervention, we believe that Nigeria shall experience peace, restoration, and progress,” she said.

The event ended with a renewed call for citizens to remain hopeful and committed to promoting peace, unity, and development in their communities.

Quoting Psalm 34:17, the group reaffirmed its faith in God’s ability to answer prayers and deliver the nation from its challenges.

“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles.” — Psalm 34:17.
